Nothing makes us more proud than seeing our clients make a difference in the communities where we live, work and play. A great example of that is our client in this month’s Style Spotlight: Laurie Lebowsky, Region Planning Director for the Washington State Department of Transportation and Vancouver City Council member. We asked Laurie some questions about her experience using our the styling services at The Difference.
First, how did you hear about The Difference?
I know Heidi [Heidi Johnson Bixby owns The Difference] and she is highly intelligent, a savvy businessperson, and a very inspirational woman. Honestly, I figured if she opened the Difference, I knew it was a great local business that I needed to check out.
Describe some of your favorite things about your Stylist and experience at The Difference?
Nicole, my Personal Stylist and all the women at The Difference were very supportive of me and gave me confidence. I’m not big into fashion but Nicole helped me with both my existing wardrobe and new pieces. She showed me how to look my best. Nicole also went through my closet which was a big help for me. She simplified my wardrobe taking the guesswork out of what to wear.
I’m on television once a week and go to a lot of community events, so Nicole helped me with putting a look together that gives me confidence while still expressing my personality.
Any favorite moments from your time at The Difference?
Two come to mind: First, was when I first started working with Nicole I learned that I was wearing clothes that were four sizes too big for me!
Also, Nicole gave me a navy blue top and black pants to try on. I said doesn’t that break a fashion rule? Nicole said it’s good to break the rules. I’m all about trying something new and pushing the envelope, so I loved it when she said we’re in a time to break the rules. Now, I love wearing navy and black!
Anything you’d share with women thinking about shopping at The Difference?
Shopping there and using the Personal Styling Services has made me feel good about myself! My wardrobe is simplified so I can focus more on my priorities than before.
