Our June Style Spotlight features a client from our Lake Oswego store, Karen O’Conner. Karen became acquainted with The Difference after Cheryl facilitated a style workshop she attended. Karen shares her experience with The Difference team and what they bring to her life – consulting and helping women of all ages (and stages) look and feel their best.
Tell us about your current lifestyle and profession:
I’m a busy CPA working part-time and running a household with two boys. My youngest is finishing high school and will attend Oregon State in the Fall; and my oldest is finishing his junior year at OSU looking to become a dentist. He will travel to Nepal this summer to assist with dental work in the villages there. Between scheduling things for my boys and work, I have little time to reflect on my style!
How did you hear about The Difference?
Cheryl LeDoux came to my office a long, long time ago. I remember Cheryl’s tips about how to perk up an outfit with jewelry or layers; something I still try to do today. We also learned about dressing professionally and staying true to our authentic style.
Describe some of your favorite things about your Stylist and working with The Difference?
I enjoy the personal friendship I have with the different Stylists – first Cheryl and now Babs. It feels comfortable shopping with a friend. Shopping with The Difference also helps me make sense of her wardrobe and keep current.
You’ve been a client of The Difference for more than 20 years. Any special memories? What about favorite products?
Tribal and Liverpool are some of my favorite brands. Tribal especially has fun fabrics that fit great. The Difference is not your standard mall shop, and I love the comments I receive when wearing a Difference outfit. When I think back through the my years working with Cheryl, I remember a lot her tidbits of advice (we like to call these “Cherylisms”).
What’s something you’d share with women to encourage them to partner with The Difference?
If you are looking for advice and fun; want to look your best and feel amazing in your style The Difference is the place to go. No detail is overlooked. They always know the right shoe or perfect necklace to perfect the look.
