In this month’s Style Spotlight we catch up with Jill Rupert, a client of Babs’. She shares some of her favorite memories at The Difference and how helpful it is to have a Personal Stylist!
How long have you been a client of The Difference? Since 2019. My sister and I joined as part of the celebration for her significant birthday.
Profession: English Professor
How do you describe your lifestyle? My life is mostly working, walking my dog and being a mom to my two giant teenage sons, but I love to meet friends for dinner or go out someplace nice with my sweetie. I travel whenever I can.
How did you hear about The Difference? My former boss, Liz Goulard, was good friends with Cheryl, the founder of The Difference, and recommended it to me and some friends.
Describe some of your favorite things about your Stylist and experience at The Difference: I really like that Babs listens to what I’m interested in, but also has me try things I wouldn’t necessarily pick out myself. She remembers what I already have and suggests things that I could add. In addition, going in for an appointment feels so luxurious and fun!
Do you have a favorite outfit/product/memory associated with The Difference? There are a few! At my first appointment, it felt so good to get a few nice things that I could build on. I loved when Cheryl convinced me that the makeup routine she recommended would only take 5 minutes! It was true! This past spring, Babs had me try a blue Clara Sun Woo faux leather jacket, and every time I wear it people ask me where I got it. I would never have picked it out myself, but I love it so much I’m getting one in another color!
What’s something you’d share with women to encourage them to shop at The Difference? There is zero pressure, the stylists work hard to get to know you and they remember your preferences and your style. I love that Babs texts me with ideas and I can say “No way” or “Yes! Please send it so I can try it on.” I don’t like shopping and I don’t keep up with fashion trends, but of course it feels good to look nice. It’s wonderful to have trusted help with that!
